With Deepest Sympathy

Hello my crafting friends,
This is a very brief post tonight to show you the card I made
for my dear blogging friend in England, Pauline. Her Mum
finally lost her long battle with cancer recently. Pauline wrote
about her Mum here.
Several years ago, when I was visiting London, I went to a Craft Show
at Esher, and whilst there I bought 2 sheets of beautiful black and white
photos of lillies. I think they may be 'Words Like Honey'. I used the
largest photo on 1 sheet for this card for Pauline.
A close up of the beautifully lit photo.

I would like to enter the following challenges-
Creative Creations #16 - 'Monochromatic'
My Craft Spot #107 - 'Clean and Simple'
My Time To Craft #230 - 'Sympathy'
ABC #39 - 'Monochromatic Colour'
That Craft Place - 'Monochrome'

Until tomorrow night, thank you for visiting,
Hugs,
Jennifer. x

Pretty Bouquet

Wow...it's the 1st August already. Happy birthday to all the horses, and here in Australia it is National Wattle Day.

It is time for my second DT card as one of Lili's Little Fairies. Our challenge theme this time gives you heaps of opportunities to ink up so many of the gorgeous Lili Of The Valley stamps.....
'HERE COME THE GIRLS'
Our lovely sponsor this week is

I have used one of my new LOTV stamps, Pretty Bouquet. Isn't she sweet!
I have had this gorgeous paper for ages, and have procrastinated about using it (you all know I am a paper addict/hoarder don't you). However, this cute image justified me cutting into it. As soon as I saw this little cute-pie, I thought "mmmm...she's a soft pink and blue girl". I have also been hoarding that luxurious lace for what seems like forever.
She was a joy to colour, using my Promarkers as usual. I used the largest die in the Spellbinders Labels Four set to cut the pink mat under the image, and cut out the image itself by lightly tracing around the inside of the die then cutting it out by hand. This gives a very narrow mat. I then glittered everything in sight.
The pin just had a crystal head, and I added the beads myself. The little
sentiment tags are LOTV.
A closer look at the lovely flowers which I 'smothered' with Stickles.
Inside the card.

Santa's Sleigh

Oh my goodness, tomorrow will be the first day of August. Happy birthday to all horses, and here in Australia it is Wattle Day.

The weeks are just racing by at an alarming rate, and already it is time for
another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty.
Our theme this week is
'ADD SOME STITCHING - REAL OR FAUX'
We have 2 lovely sponsors this week, and they are
and

I was given this traditional digi image, Santa's Sleigh Silhouette, from Floppy Latte
to play with, as well as the digi paper. The Swiss Dots paper came in six
fabulous colours.
I layered the paper, and adhered it with the base stripes both
horizontally and vertically to create more visual interest. My stitching
is faux, the white drawn with a gel pen, and the sivery grey with a
Zig Pen.
I coloured the moon with a Promarker (Primrose I think), and sponged
the edges of the white panel with Adirondack Denim.
In March, I bought the die for this reindeer from a lady at a stamp camp
I attend twice yearly. She didn't want it...can't imagine why...
I love it. This is the first time I have used it, but I am sure you
will be seeing it quite often in the next few months. That tiny
blue gem fitted perfectly into his eye socket.

Challenges:-
Lexi's Creations - 'Christmas In July'
Stamp And Create - 'Christmas In July'
Cards For Men #15 - 'Christmas In July'
Shopping Our Stash #112 - 'Use Your Oldest Punch'

Maggie Springtime Flowers

Hello once again my crafting friends,

It's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty, and this week we have a great theme:-
'BLING IT ON'
Our 2 generous sponsors this week are
and

I had a choice of any digi image from Lacy Sunshine to create my card with,
so I chose this sweet image, Maggie Springtime Flowers.
With her being so pretty, I cannot believe she is being retired, so if you
would like to buy her, hurry over to Lacy Sunshine.
A closer look at Maggie Springtime Flowers, coloured with Promarkers.
I had an appointment with the dentist today (eeeeek!), and when I
got home, I realised that I had not photographed the inside of my
card earlier, so by then the sunlight was fading, and filtering
through the trees, hence the shadows across this photo.

Festive Little Robins

Finally I can tell you my exciting news. For 3 weeks I have been almost
bursting at the seams with the effort of keeping the secret.
**********
I have been invited to become a 'Fairy' - yes that's correct, I am
now one of Lili's Little Fairies!!!!
**********
When Squirrel, our 'Fairy Mummy', asked me to join the other fairies
on the design team, I had to have a l.o.n.g think about it, before making
my decision. That l.o.n.g think took me less than the blink of an eye before
emailing back with a resounding "Yes please". ( lol )
Then I did have a long think...."what have I done...they are all such talented
little fairies". However, all my teamies have been so welcoming, so I would like
to say "thank you for inviting me to join you". Also, I would like to thank my
friend, Pauline for nominating me as a possible candidate to be considered.
I have been placed in Team B, and our challenge theme is...

'CHRISTMAS IN JULY'

You may enter any Christmassy creation, but of course you must use a
Lilli Of The Valley image.

Our lovely sponsor is

This is my first card as a Team B Lili's Little Fairy.
I have used Lili Of The Valley's sweet 'Little Festive Robins'. They look
so excited, hanging their decorations, and stockings socks, ready for Santa.
A closer look at the little robins and their decorated house.
As usual I coloured them with my Promarkers.
I sponged the greenery with gold ink, and used Stickles on the
flowers (and greeting). This is the first time I have used that lovely
pine branch, but I think I will be using it many more times.
As I usually do, I have decorated the inside of my
card to match the front.

Lotus Silhouette

Hello to all my crafting friends,
*****************
It is almost time to tell you my exciting news....
but not quite yet!
Just one more sleep to go.
*****************
Isn't it scary that we are now in the second half of July already. It is now more than a year since our big 40th Wedding Anniversary celebrations, and our second honeymoon in beautiful New Zealand. We loved N.Z. so much we are planning a return holiday there next year.

Once again it is time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty,
and our theme is
'Use The Colour Black'
Just the black outline of your image is not enough - you must use black in your
colouring, layering, or embellishments, or you may choose to create something
using black and just one other colour, or black and white.

This week we have 3 lovely sponsors

I was asked to select an image from several offered by Delicious Doodles,
and I chose the lovely Lotus Silhouette. I only realised today that there are
matching digi papers in many colours.
My card is DL size, and was fairly quick to create. I have had that gorgeous
pearlised Christina Re backing paper for ages.
A closer look at that elegant image, coloured with my 'trusty' Promarkers.
As usual, the inside of my card matches the front. I didn't use any embellishments
so as to highlight the DP.

(DP & Greetings Sticker-3+ years)
A Little Bit Crafty - 'Die-ing For It'

66 Clickety Clicks

Hello to all my crafting friends,

Tomorrow is a very special day for John, my darling husband of 41 years and 1 week.
It is his birthday, and I am not giving out prizes for guessing how old he will be.
I don't know why I chose a gambling theme for his card, as he doesn't
even buy lottery or lotto tickets, let alone gamble on racing, or poker machines.
Perhaps it's because in my book, he is a winner, an ace!
I love that paper that looks like real cork. I have had it for about 4 years.
I really must use up some of my massive collection of great papers.
