Sympathy Roses

This year, I have had to make so many sympathy cards. They are not a card that any of us enjoy making, are they, and I think that many of you agree that we prefer to make these cards especially for the recipient, rather than have a stash of them in reserve.

I made this card for a close friend's daughter, whose husband passed away after a long illness. She is a florist, so I thought this lovely digi stamp would be appropriate. It is 'Roses'  by The Digi Doodle Shop, who have now sadly ceased trading.
I kept the design fairly simple, using a dry-embossed background and silver sentiment
and border peel-off stickers. For some reason, the pink butterfly looks peach-coloured,
but it is actually a very similar pink to the roses. Perhaps it is because I used pearlised paper?
The image is coloured with my Promarkers.

I would like to enter this in the following challenge:-
Sentimental Sundays #168 - 'With Sympathy'

Image - Digi Doodle Shop Roses
Colouring- Promarkers
Dies - Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Circles
Punch - Martha Stewart Butterfly Trio
Embossing - Cuttlebug Emb. Folder
Peel-off stickers from my stash

It is after midnight, so I must try to get some sleep. I am aching all over, as yesterday, I tripped and fell heavily while being a tour guide at an historic Fort in Newcastle where I volunteer 3 days per week. At my age, I don't 'bounce' as well as I did many years ago.

Back in a few days...so in the meantime, happy crafting,
Hugs,
Jennifer. x

66 Clickety Clicks

Hello to all my crafting friends,

Tomorrow is a very special day for John, my darling husband of 41 years and 1 week.
It is his birthday, and I am not giving out prizes for guessing how old he will be.
I don't know why I chose a gambling theme for his card, as he doesn't
even buy lottery or lotto tickets, let alone gamble on racing, or poker machines.
Perhaps it's because in my book, he is a winner, an ace!
I love that paper that looks like real cork. I have had it for about 4 years.
I really must use up some of my massive collection of great papers.

Challenges I would like to enter:-
Here Come The Boys #56 - 'Anything Goes'
Card Makin' Mamas #72 - 'Monochromatic'
Sweet Pea Stampers - 'For The Men/Boys'
Challenges 4 Everybody - 'Anything Goes'
Dominoart #5 - 'Altered Game Board'
Ladybug Crafts Ink - 'Birthday'
Crafts 4 Eternity - 'Rust' WINNER

Bingo Card - Crafts 4 Eternity freebie digi (thank you)
Ticket greeting - Digi Doodle Shop freebie (DDS now closed)
Paper - Print Blocks Cork
Dies - Spellbinders Classic Square, deleted Fleur de Lis Square (very old)
Distress Inks - Frayed Burlap, Walnut
Alphabet & Number Stamps - $2 chain store

I really must go and light the fire. It is freezing cold.

Until next time, thank you for visiting,
Hugs,
Jennifer. x

Hearts and Roses,

I would like to welcome my newest followers, Leti and NHHa, and hope you both enjoy your visits to my blog.

Today I would like to wish a lovely friend, Pamela, "Happy Birthday".
Pamela loves hearts, flowers, and anything purple, so I have tried to
include those elements into my card for her.
The lighting is uneven because I took these photos in the very
last rays of the setting sun.
I made the soft pink flower by cutting about 12 thicknesses of tissue
paper with a Spellbinders Scalloped Circle die, pushing a brad
through the centre, then 'fluffing' the layers.

Inside my card is very CAS.

I would like to enter the following challenges:-
No Matter Which #10 - 'Bingo' (ribbon, pearls,sparkle/glitter; die cut, flowers, sparkle/glitter; ribbons, flowers, bows)
