FORE!!!

Good morning to my crafting friends. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.
Many of you in the Northern Hemisphere are just beginning your summer
holidays, so please keep safe, and have a wonderful holiday.

Last Wednesday, one of my fellow guides at the Fort celebrated his birthday,
and as he is 'golf-mad', a golf-themed card seemed the obvious choice.

I absolutely love QKR Stampede's bears, and this rather rotund
guy is no exception.

This was the best I could do for a 'golf ball' - I cut a circle with a Spellbinder
die, then embossed it, to create dimples. When I planned the card in my head,
I had intended to just use a large 'FORE' as a sentiment, then I remembered
it was our friend's 64th birthday.........!

Inside the card co-ordinates with the front.

Challenges
Penny's Paper Crafty #186 - 'Anything Goes'
QKR Stampede #97 - 'Vacation' (card recipient often goes on golfing vacations) WINNER

Image - QKR Stampede Digi 3401 Day On The Course
Colouring - Promarkers
Paper - Papermania It's A Man's World
Embossing - Mini Dots (magazine freebie), Cuttlebug Argyle,
Sentiment - computer generated (Balsam and Forte fonts)
Border peel-off sticker from my junk stash

That's all for now, so I must go and morph into a domestic goddess. Thank you for visiting, and until next time "happy crafting".

Hugs,
Jennifer. x

Sewing Mouse

This post will be rather brief tonight as for some unknown reason I fainted this afternoon, so am feeling a tad washed out. The last time that happened to me was about 20 years ago when I had Glandular Fever (but didn't know I had it at that stage).

It is once again time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty, and our theme for you this time is that you have to choose
3 EMBELLISHMENTS FROM THE FOLLOWING LIST -
ribbon, lace, eyelets, brads, card candi, charms, flowers,
feathers, buttons, gems or pearls.

Wow, that gives you plenty of scope, doesn't it.

We have 2 lovely sponsors this week, and they are:-
and

I was asked to use a QKR image, so I chose Digi 18210 Sewing Mouse. I always
love using QKR images, they are so quirkily (is that a word?) cute.
The cotton reels on the paper are aqua, tan, brown, and cream, so I went
with those colours for my colouring of the image, and my embellishments.
The 3 embellies I chose are flowers, card candi and ribbon.

A closer look at our cute little seamstress.

Inside my card.

Challenges:-
Crafter's Cafe - 'Embossing (wet or dry)'
An Oldie But A Goodie - 'Embossing' (Spellbinders die & Emb. folder
about 5 years old).

Ribbon and Flowers from my junk stash

It's just after 9pm, but I will have to jump into bed. I don't think it will take me long to nod off tonight.

For a chance to win great prizes, why not visit Penny's Paper Crafty and enter our 3 Embellishments (from the list) challenge.

Thank you for visiting - I will be back tomorrow night.

Today's card is for a very special friend, Diane, and I just wanted to make this card to tell her how much I value our friendship. We have been friends for an amazing 50 years this week!!! We met during our first week in High School, and our mutual love of horses and music had us bonding immediately. Diane was my bridesmaid, and I hers. She and her husband came to our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration last year. Geographically we have lived long distances apart since we left school, but have maintained our deep friendship through 'thick and thin'. Happy 50th Anniversary dear friend!

Girly Birthday Bear

Hello fellow crafters,
Here in Australia, as in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere, we are experiencing bizarre extremes of Mother Nature. In Victoria and very southern parts of New South Wales there are still huge, out of control bushfires, while Queensland and the east coast of NSW to Sydney are experiencing a hurricane and record-breaking floods. Ten days ago, we had the highest recorded temperatures here and were semi-packed and on fire alert, but now we have had record-breaking, torrential rain for 36 hours, with flooding.

My heart goes out to those poor souls who have lost their homes, and in some cases their lives, to either fires or floods.

Onto happier subjects, this is my second post today, because I have made two cards
for the new challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty, and this week our theme is
'ONE FOR THE GIRLS'
Our sponsors for this challenge are
SASSY STUDIO DESIGNS
For this card, I have used this oh so cute digital stamp, Digi 9603 Birthday Bear,
by our new sponsor, QKR Stampede.
A closer look at this adorable little girly bear.
I have decorated the inside of the card to match the front.
For a change, I decided to make a 'Tent Fold' card.

Challenges I would like to enter are:-

Inky Impressions #95 - 'Bingo' (dies/punch, sentiment, pink/red)
The Perfect Sentiment #64 - 'Anything Goes, with a Die-cut)

Paper Pretties #243 - 'Square Card'
