Hello fellow crafters, and welcome to my newest followers. I hope you enjoy your visits.

My goodness, the east coast of Australia is experiencing some major extremes in weather conditions! About 8 weeks ago we were on bushfire alert (we live in a rural area), and sadly, several hundreds of homes were destroyed. About 4-5 weeks ago, there were cyclones, mini-tornadoes and major floods, again with many homes and businesses destroyed, and now we have major flooding again. In the past 3 days, we had some of the heaviest rain in the 33 years we have lived here.

On a happier note, it is time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty, and once again the theme is one I am sure you will love -

'USE YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR'

I have used Sassy Studio Design's Elizabeth, and my favourite colour is burgundy, followed very, very closely by pink. 

I'm not sure what this fold is called, but I saw it in a magazine several years

ago. There were no instructions, so I experimented with some scrap paper,

made a template, which I squirrelled away, and forgot all about it until I was

looking for something else.

Here is the card, opened out. That beautiful paper, by Papermania, has 

a linen texture.

I coloured the image with my promarkers - this photo has her dress more 

'true to colour' than the top 2 photos. I added Stickles Star Dust

to the front of her dress, her earring, and her ring.

The 'inside' of the card. The layered scallops and the metallic

border strip are burgundy, not black as they appear in the photo.

Bundle of Hearts

Hello fellow crafters,

My goodness, the weeks just fly by don't they...I feel I must start soon on my Christmas cards so as to avoid the sense of panic I lived with last December.

Once again it's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty, and our theme this week is one I know all of you love -

'ANYTHING GOES'

My card this week features the cutest little image, Bundle of Hearts,
by Crafty Sentiments Designs.

John and I never celebrate Valentine's Day...for us, every day together is special,

so I made this card for our Anniversary. I know that it is not until July, but it never

hurts to be prepared, does it. John doesn't look at my blog, unless I need help with

some difficult technical problem, so it is pretty safe to show you this card.

As usual, I have used my Promarkers to colour the image.

A closer look at the flowers and leaves. I bought a packet of the 

little red heart beads about 6 or 7 years ago. They have a lovely

pearly sheen - I really should use them more often.

As usual, I have decorated the inside of the card to match the front.

Daisies and Ladybugs

Hello fellow crafters,

Once again it's time for a new challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty, and our theme this week is

'USE YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBO'

I have to confess I have 2 favouite colour combos - one is 'pink and green', but the one I have chosen to use for this challenge is 'pink and brown'.

I got to play with a lovely digi stamp set from Fred She Said Designs, 

and it is called Daisies and Ladybugs. There are lots of images in this set,

some are pre-coloured, and some are outlines for you to colour as you wish. 

I printed 2 copies of the large daisy head image, coloured them both, then cut out one,

which I shaped with a 'ball' tool. I then mounted it with 3D tape.

 

I love this group of small daisies - they are so pretty. I printed one

of the ladybugs in the digi set, and after I coloured her, I cut her out

and mounted her on 3 D tape.

For the inside of  my card, I used another of the images in the set, and 

cut out the panel for the personal message, using the 'off the edge' technique.

Happy Hippies

Hello fellow crafters,
I would like to welcome my newest follower, Chris. Thank you for signing up, and I hope you enjoy your visits.

Also, I have just noticed that I have had over 10,000 page views - that just amazes me. When I made the first nervous steps to begin my blog, I thought it would take me a year or 2 to reach that number, so thank you all for your interest.

Recently, John and I were invited to a friend's 50th birthday party. In order to make it more special, she decided to have a 70s theme.

Flower Power, hippies, and protest marches were still 'Happenings' in the early 70s, so that was how John and I decided to dress. Everything except our sandals, and John's glasses and jeans were purchased at an op. shop in a nearby town, for the grand sum of $10! I washed everything the next day, and donated them back to the op. shop.

We printed the signs and the neck medallions on the computer, from a freebie site. 

Our entrance to the party was so funny...we marched in, chanting the ubiquitous "What do we want...(fun)...When do we want it...(now)", and all the older guests who had arrived before us, joined in, while marching around the garden and through the house. The 8 or 9 younger people there (aged in their teens and early 20s) just stood and stared...they thought we 'oldies' had 'lost our marbles'!

Enough of this frivolity..I will be back soon with something a little more sensible...a card methinks.

Hello fellow crafters,

I would like to say "hello" to Larelle, in Tenterfield. She reads my blog regularly, and is a friend of my dear friend, Diane, for whom I made a card to celebrate our 50 years of friendship. Also, "hello" to Kerry, who, by chance, I met up with recently. We used to attend the same card classes, many, many years ago, and lost touch when the shop closed down.

I was asked to use a Bugaboo digi image, and had no hesitation in 

choosing Clyde Get Well - I love him!

If I was feeling poorly, I would love to have a visit from this 

adorable little chap.

A closer look - don't you just love the expression on 

his face.  

My 'ribbon' is part of an old 1 inch gauze bandage, that I have had

in my crafty stash for years. I wasn't sure what I would use it for,

but as soon as I saw this image, I knew it would be perfect.

The bow is tied with my Bow-Easy.

I really must learn to shoot straight with my camera!
