Santa Mouse

This time next week it will be Christmas Day. I hope you are all better prepared
than I am. Due to a family crisis, I did not finish making all my cards, so unfortunately
quite a few friends were sent shop-bought cards with an IOU for my annual letter.

Penny's Paper Crafty has another challenge for you, and our theme this week gives
you lots of scope to unlease your creativity...it is

'YOUR FAVOURITE TECHNIQUE OR COLOUR; OR BOTH'

We have two generous, and very regular sponsors this week. A big thank you to

and

I was asked to choose a StampArt Design digi stamp by Kathryne, and
although Kathryne has so many lovely images to choose from, I did not
hesitate to ask for the incredibly adorable Santa Mouse. He is a new
image in Kathryne's catalogue.
My favourite technique is colouring with my Promarkers, and at Christmastime
my favourite colours are the very traditional red and green, sometimes with a
touch of gold, although not at this time. Because Santa Mouse is sooooooo
cute, I decided to create a CAS card, so as to not distract from him.

A close up look at little Santa Mouse, coloured of course, with Promarkers.
I could gaze at that face all day, and don't you just love that over-sized santa suit!

Inside my card.
In the past few months, I bought quite a few Christmas themed dies, lovely papers
and lots of gorgeous stamps, but circumstances meant that I did not get a chance to
use them...won't I have fun in 2014 trying them all out. They may be the incentive I
need to get an earlier start on Christmas next year. I did however get to use the
Memory Box Merry Christmas die for this card. The negatives for 'Christmas'
can be used on another card. I affixed a gem in the die-cut 'i'.

Challenge
Without Words - 'Nearest and Dearest' (Top 3)

Colouring - Promarkers
Sentiment - Computer generated Balsam font
Die - Memory Box Merry Christmas
Punch - Martha Stewart (negatives from Snowflakes PATP punch)

Elphie

Good evening fellow crafters,

We had so many wonderful entries from you all last week at Penny's Paper Crafty,
but it is now time for a new challenge. Our challenge theme is:
'ANYTHING BUT SQUARE'

Our generous sponsors this week are
and

I was asked to choose one of Kathryne's digi stamps, so had
no hesitation in choosing her adorable ELPHIE THE ELEPHANT.
I had intended to make another shaped card, but time got the better of me, so I opted
to create a simple step card. Despite the last minute change of plans, I am quite
happy with this design.

I used my blender pen to try to create skin texture on Elphie. Kathryne has manged to
capture the posture of a baby perfectly, hasn't she...and as for that face...just soooo cute.

Inside my card with space for a personal message.

I decorated the back of the card, but realised that I should have attached
a backing piece of cardstock to the coloured image.

Tammy's Scrappin' Corner #83 - 'Inspired By A Song Title'
(Baby Elephant Walk)
Paper Creator's Crafts #15 - 'Dies and/or Punches'

Happy Little Bunny

Because it is Wednesday, that means we have a new challenge for you at Penny's Paper Crafty.
The theme for this week is :-
'LACE AND/OR RIBBON'
We are lucky this week to have 3 lovely sponsors :-

I was asked to choose any image from Stamp Art Designs by the wonderfully talented Kathryne, so after much deliberation (Kathryne has so many lovely images), I chose this cute digi stamp,  Happy Little Bunny
As usual, I coloured my image with Promarkers. Her tail has Diamond Flower Soft
to make it look fluffy. I think I should have used a smaller pearl on her collar.
I don't think that I am the only cardmaker who loves the Spellbinders Floral Oval die...
I see it on so many other crafters' cards. Can you blame us...it is so pretty. The
gorgeous paper, First Edition, is heavily glittered, as are all the butterfly die-cuts.
A closer look at the greeting, and embellishments.
The inside of my card is decorated to match the front. That exquisite butterfly
die-cut was a gift last week from my wonderful and very talented English blogging
friend, Pauline. Isn't it beautiful! It doesn't show up in the photo, but I 'smothered'
it in Star Dust Stickles. I think you will be seeing a lot of this butterfly...BIG
THANKS again, Pauline.

Christmas Candle

Hello fellow crafters, and I would like to welcome my newest follower, Pauline, who runs the Card Crafter's Circle Challenge blog.

My goodness, aren't the weeks disappearing fast. There has been so much happening here that I didn't even realise that my blog turned one a few days ago. Where did that year go???

In addition to 2 unrelated sad events involving 2 close friends, I have been 'fighting' a virus for about a week...I have a very sore throat, mild earache, and I have absolutely no energy.

As a result of all this I am sorry to be late in telling you about our new challege at Penny's Paper Crafty, where our theme this week is a lovely one, that some people do find challenging -
'WHITE ON WHITE'
You may colour your image, but the remainder of the card must be white.
Our wonderful sponsors for this challenge are
and
I chose this lovely digital image, Christmas Candle, by Kathryne, of Stamp Art Designs.
It is so pretty.
The background is embossed with a Fiskars plate, and I put Stickles on the centre
of each snowflake. I bought the Fiskars plates many years ago, before I bought my
Cuttlebug, but didn't use them once I had a collection of embossing folders. However,
now that I mostly make square cards (146 x 146mm), I 'rediscovered' my plates.
They fit in my C'bug, emboss beautifully, and are a perfect size for my square cards.
A closer look at Christmas Candle, coloured as usual with Promarkers.

I would like to enter the following challenges:-
C.R.A.F.T. #202 - 'Christmas'
Cheery Lynn #75 - 'Anything Goes'
I Love Promarkers #163 - 'Embossing'
Paper Crafting Journey - 'Monochromatic'
Forever Friends #59 - 'Die-cuts and Punches'
Moving Along With The Times - 'Inspired By A Song or Film'
'Candle In The Wind'

Colouring - Promarkers
Dies - Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Poinsettia; Cheery Lynn Holly Flourish, Holly Leaves Strip, Wreath Strip
Other - Stickles and brad from my junk stash

Special Delivery

Hello fellow crafters and welcome to my new followers, Mags and Melanie, who are DT mates over at Penny's Paper Crafty, where we have a new challenge. This week the theme is one that many of you love.
'ANYTHING GOES'
This week's lovely sponsors are
and
Here is my DT card for this challenge, an easel card using Stamp Art Design's
'Special Delivery'.
I have used 3 new dies on this card. I bought the die for the scalloped border,
the die for the greeting, and the die for the banner at a craft show in November,
but (hanging my head) I only opened the packets a few days ago. I love them
and think I will be using them often.
A close-up look of the cute image which I have coloured with my Promarkers.
The little white hearts are negatives from the greeting die cut below, and of
course I had to cut another 2 greeting dies in order to have enough.
The inside of my card, viewed from above.
The old items I have used are a scalloped corner punch for the message panel,
a Spellbinders Label behind the greetings die cut, and the buttons.

Challenges I would like to enter are:-
Totally Papercrafts #148 - 'Something New'
Ready-Teddy-Go #18 - 'Something New'
Whoopsi Daisy - 'Die Cuts and Punches'
Incy Wincy Designs - 'Something New'
Jellypark - 'Old and New'

Digi Stamp - Stamp Art Design Special Delivery
Greetings Stamp - Wild Rose Studio - Cute Greetings
Colouring - Promarkers
Paper - Kaisercraft 6x6 Fine and Sunny
Dies - Cheery Lynn Sentiment Frame; Poppy Stamps Banner; Spellbinders Labels; Quickcutz Scalloped Border
