Kitties

Over the past few weeks we have had a worrying time (in addition to this
horrific pandemic), as our darling kitty, who is 15 1/2, has had several trips
to our vet, including for a general anaesthetic. Our wonderful vet has
discovered what is wrong, and has prescribed treatments which will
most likely have to continue for the remainder of Cookie's life.

This is the card I have made for Cookie to give to Karleigha when he has to visit
her again later this week (along with a box of choccies). As well as Cookie writing
a "thank you" in the card, he will include an apology for being such a naughty boy
for her. "Co-operation" is not a word in Cookie's dictionary!! At home he is the
cutest little boy, but for sweet, gentle Karleigha he morphs into a hissing,
growling, biting Cujo...he is so embarrassing!

This is a much loved stamp I have had and used for many years.
As always I have used Promarkers to colour the cute image.

A closer look at my hand-made paper flowers, and their tiny
bead centres.

I have only had the set of cling stamps that this greeting is from
for a few months, but it is becoming a favourite.

As I have been writing this post (and earlier) I have been entranced by the music of Beethoven. Since 2001 the ABC Classical Radio Station have held a 'Top 100' each year. Listeners are invited to list their favourite classical music, each year having a different theme (movies, dance, opera, 'swoon' etc., or other famous composers). The ABC then play a 'countdown' over an entire weekend, then release the Top 100 as a boxed set of CDs.

Until next time, thank you for visiting,
Hugs (virtual of course),
Jennifer.  xx

"Thank You" Kittens

Good evening to all my fellow crafters out there in blogland.

All too fast the past week has disappeared...today is Thursday,
therefore it is once again time for another challenge at

This week, the theme chosen by the Pink Fairies is quite an easy one...
'ADD A TAG'
you can create anything you like, but please remember to use a
stamped or digi image to be eligible for the prize from our lovely
sponsor, who this week is Crafty Ribbons.
Thank you Crafty Ribbons.

Those of you who read my blog regularly will know that a few weeks ago,
John and I had to make the heart-breaking decision to have our beloved
kitty cat, Pagliacci (Pally) put to sleep. I am still grieving for him, as for
15 years he had been such a gentle and loving companion, and now
there is a huge emptiness about our home. Of course we love
Cookie, our remaining kitty, but he is not an affectionate cat,
so I miss the big 'cuddle sessions' I had with dear Pally.

Our vet, Sarah, had grown to love Pally...he was her first feline patient after
moving to our area, and sadly for her, her own kitty, Ninja, died as a result
of snake bite just 2 days before Pally's passing. Sarah spent an hour
with us that morning and was very compassionate, so I made this
card  for her to say "thank you", and also to write a few
words of comfort for her loss of Ninja.

Our Pally was white and ginger, and Ninja was a grey,
striped tabby, so they are both on my card.

A close-up look at my flower embellishment over a punched border.

Inside my card where I wrote a note of "thank you", and also of
condolences to Sarah. (sorry the photo is blurry).

Kittens and Butterflies

Hello everyone,
What more cute combination could you find than kittens and butterflies...
I love cats, as do so many other card-makers and scrapbookers, I have discovered. These little darlings could melt the hardest of hearts. A lovely young lady asked me to make a card for her Mum's birthday, and it had to have cats, butterflies, flowers, glitter and lots of pink. She loved it.
I always decorate the inside of my cards to match the front.
It does not show up in the above photo, but all the butterflies on the vertical strip are heavily glittered with Stickles, the same as those on the front of the card.
Just by various minor ways, I usually "pretty up" the back of my cards where I place my contact details sticker.

Stamp - All Night Media 418G
Colouring of image - Promarkers
Cardstock - Bazzill
Paper - Kaisercraft 'Tigerlilly' Collection
Punches - Martha Stewart PATP 'Monarch Butterflies'; Carl
Dies - Marianne LR0116; Spellbinders-Butterflies Circles S4-329, Labels ?One
Roses - Di's Scrapbook Shop; Lincraft
Other - Ranger Stickles 'Crystal'; Pearls and ribbon from my junk stash

I really loved making this card, and hope you have enjoyed looking at it.
I would like to thank Di from Di's Scrapbook Shop for her encouragement and great tips while setting up my blog.
After the glorious weather over the Easter long weekend, this sudden taste of winter is a bit of a shock, so I am going to snuggle under the doona with my latest espionage thriller and a mug of hot chocolate...As if I haven't had enough chocolate in the last 3 days!

Til next time,
Jennifer. x
