Choo Choo

Good afternoon.
It is one year today since I last posted anything on my blog.

To say the least, the past 12 months have been tumultuous, with
many changes to my life, and that of my husband of almost 51 years, John.
I will not bore you with any details, except to say that John's health has been
in decline for some time now, and I am now officially his carer. Spare time
is in short supply, so I decided that I would take a break from blogging.
John will soon be 76, and I am not too far behind that (with some
health issues of my own). However, I feel that it may be time
to get back into crafting and blogging.

Recently a dear little boy we know celebrated his 5th birthday.
This is the card I made for him.
I used a very old Cuttlebug set of train dies to cut the engine and carriages from
snippets of navy blue and yellow cardstock. The yellow pieces were then glued
into the 'windows'. Using some snippets of silver card from a paracetamol box,
I attached the wheel centres. Many years ago I bought a sheet of  'track'
peel off stickers, so that is what the little train is riding on.

A close-up look at the engine and one of the carriages. I used
a pale grey Promarker to add some smoke puffs.

Using a Cuttlebug die and snippets of navy blue and red cardstock,
I cut two number 5s, and offset them to create a 'shadow' effect.

Challenges I would like to enter :-

Hopefully I will be back soon to show you another card, so until then, thank you for visiting.
Hugs,
Jennifer.  x

  1. Thanks for entering this cute train card as your Snippets Playground homework.

It sounds like you most definitely need a little relaxation up in the Playground Treehouse. Come on up and we’ll make you very welcome xxx

  2. What a delightful card Jennifer! You're a very clever crafter and user of snippets for sure. It's a joy to have you come and play with us. I hope you know that we're also here to be 'the wind beneath your wings' when you need us. Len and I are in the same 'age bracket'' by the way. Our Snippets Playground is what I hoped it would be - basically one huge hug across the internet and the World. You are always so welcome to come and play - more so with treats for Dudley (he just whispered that in my ear!). Take care sweet lady and be sure to come back and play - new Challenge on Sunday night as soon as the clock hits 00:00.

    Hugs

    Di xx

  3. Hi Jennifer, long time no hear. So sorry to hear that John’s health is in decline and you are now his career, but glad you are trying to make a little “you” time. I am now back into crafting and blogging since 2021 after a break of around 7 years since I finished work, though so much seems to have changed in those years on the Craft scene and my style has changed too. This is a really a sweet card with great use of die cuts. Take care xx
